Report launch: Gender diversity on AIM company boards

Overview

On 26 February 2026, Addidat, Indigo: Independent Governance and a panel of board members joined to discuss the launch of the 4th annual report into gender diversity on AIM boards, hosted by the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.

The webinar aimed to create momentum by convening the community - companies, investors, Nomads, advisers and market bodies - to align on priorities and explore proportionate, AIM-appropriate ways to drive faster progress.

Chair, Quoted Companies Alliance

Sangita Shah

Sangita is a seasoned director, having served on various PLC boards across diverse industries. She is currently Chair of Big Technologies PLC, Interim Non-Executive Chair of Inspired PLC, Non-Executive Director of Nasdaq-listed Forward Industries Inc., Trustee of Willow Foundation, Chairs Windsor Leadership Programmes, and serves as Investor Director for a handful of privately owned companies. Her appointments have also included Non-Executive Chair of AIM-traded Kinovo plc, RA International plc, and Board Director of Ten Entertainment Group PLC. As a full-time director, she has held a number of senior roles within blue-chip organisations, including Unilever, Mars, Ernst & Young, and KPMG. She was also a former Board Director of Swindon Town FC, Commonwealth Business Council, Trustee of Care International, and a past President of the Chartered Institute of Journalists. She has consulted for a number of organisations, including HM Cabinet Office, HSBC, and other blue-chip companies. Sangita is a qualified accountant and a frequent keynote Chair and speaker at forums for the Windsor Leadership Trust and, in the past, the European Parliament.

Paula Constant

Paula is an accomplished business leader and joined AIM-listed Personal Group plc as CEO in August 2023. With a career spanning over 25 years in the fields of telecoms, banking, and outsourcing, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. Her executive journey includes notable positions at renowned companies such as National Australia Bank, Mitie, BT, Vodafone, Accenture and most recently, Woven.

Emily Watts

Emily is the Head of Corporate Development at Cavendish, the leading adviser to UK growth companies across both private and public markets. In her role, Emily spearheads strategic growth initiatives, helps drives technological innovation, and advocates for policy changes. She transitioned to this position after spending 10 years in Cavendish’s Investment Banking team.

Partner, Norman Broadbent

Tanya Gass

Tanya is a Partner in the Board Practice. She assists companies of all types and across all sectors with their chair and non-executive director recruitment needs, frequently partnering with sector specialists in the Norman Broadbent team. She also undertakes Board Effectiveness Reviews and is known for her insightful yet practical approach. Prior to joining Norman Broadbent, Tanya was the NED Recruitment Lead at Women on Boards UK where she worked with SMEs, large privates, AIM and FTSE 350 companies to source diverse NED candidates from the network’s membership. Tanya comes from a legal and corporate governance background: she qualified as a corporate solicitor at a magic circle law firm, before spending nearly two decades providing training and consultancy services around corporate law, good governance, board effectiveness, stakeholder voice and equity capital markets. Tanya also sits on the ICAEW Corporate Governance Committee. Tanya holds a First in Law from Sheffield University.

Beth is the Chief Client Officer and cofounder of Addidat, the outsourced ESG provider for UK growth businesses and their investors. Bernadette Young FCG

Bernadette Young is a Chartered Governance Professional with more than 30 years’ experience as a company secretary. She is the co-founder and director of company secretarial and corporate governance consultancy, Indigo: Independent Governance, and has vast experience of working with the boards of both listed and private companies.
