Her expertise extends beyond the corporate sphere. As the Governance Assessor for the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry—the largest public inquiry in UK history—Erika is playing a critical role in shaping accountability and corporate reform for the UK. With over 15 years of experience advising FTSE-listed companies, including Low & Bonar, InterContinental Hotels Group, Premier Foods, and KPMG, she has been instrumental in refining governance frameworks that stand the test of scrutiny. Named Governance Professional of the Year by the Chartered Governance Institute, Erika is a recognised voice in shaping the future of governance. Victoria Garvin

Victoria began her career at Aviva in the Life and Pensions business before expanding her role to include Secretariat support for the General Insurance and Reinsurance divisions. She was later appointed to lead the global, group-wide function responsible for overseeing governance practices across the organisation. Before joining Aviva, Victoria served as Group Company Secretary for Canada Life Group, the UK division of The Great-West Life Co., a Canadian financial services group listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. An experienced director and Executive Coach, Victoria has held board-level roles throughout her career. She is currently a non-executive director on the Board of a Multi-Academy Trust, where she is the Chair of its Audit Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee. She also previously served as a trustee for a large hybrid (DB and DC) pension scheme.
Mark Jenkins Halma

Mark Jenkins ACG

Mark is Company Secretary at Halma plc, a FTSE 100 global group of life saving technology companies with an enviable track record, spanning decades, of organic and inorganic growth. Over his 25-year career as a Chartered Secretary, he has predominantly served in FTSE 100 companies, three of which were subject to takeovers. Before joining Halma, he contributed to the success of PE-backed Alliance Boots, ultimately navigating it through a two-step merger with Walgreens Inc. Mark's experience spans a variety of industries and functional areas - including HR, pensions, share plans, facilities, Health & Safety, legal, compliance, corporate transactions, ethics, insurance, and sustainability - but his current passion and focus lie in corporate governance and boardroom dynamics. He is also a pension trustee, charity trustee, mentor on the Cherie Blair Foundation’s ‘Women in Business’ programme, and an exam reviewer for the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland’s Qualifying Programme.

Karina Bye FCG

Karina is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute who specialises in the provision of corporate governance services to both listed and private financial services businesses. She has over 25 years’ experience in boardrooms collaborating with directors and key stakeholders to continuously improve the effectiveness of boards. She has led and/or supported a range of Board Evaluations, both internal and external. She is an experienced People Leader who builds strong team engagement and performance; promotes a culture of collaboration; and continuously works to develop team members so they can reach their potential. Karina is currently the Group Company Secretary for AXA UK where she leads a team of governance professionals supporting AXA’s Personal, Commercial and Health Insurance businesses in the UK. Prior to joining AXA in December 2024, Karina spent seven years at Aviva, most of which leading teams of governance professionals across the Insurance, Wealth and Investment Management businesses. In her last role at Aviva, Karina led the Plc and Corporate teams delivering group centre and listing requirements. Prior to Aviva, Karina spent 15 years at Invesco, a global investment management business, where she started as an Investment Trust Company Secretary and worked her way up to the Head of Company Secretarial, EMEA.
