The Chartered Governance Institute of the UK and Ireland (CGIUKI) has launched its series of accreditation and training programmes to lift the standard for board performance reviews.

On 1 May 2025, the prestigious CGIUKI Annual Lecture was held at the London Business School. The lecture brought together senior governance professionals including the Chartered Governance Institute’s Global Council, the Institute’s board, and distinguished friends of the Institute to explore one of the most vital qualities in board leadership: independent judgement. The discussion was led by our esteemed speaker Sir Andrew Likierman.

Nearly 50% of UK companies and not for profits have plans to reach gender parity at board level according to the results of a snapshot survey of governance professionals, conducted by the Chartered Governance Institute for UK & Ireland (CGIUKI) in association with The Core Partnership.

ICSA: The Chartered Governance Institute has today released a statement outlining its views about the situation of having chief executives, and other staff, as trustees of charitable companies such as academy trusts.
